Meet Rev. Dr. Littycia A. Clay-Crawley, a devoted and enthusiastic servant of God. She resides in Richmond, VA, alongside her husband, Deacon Frank E. Crawley, Jr., and their vibrant daughter, Nylah Kennedy. Originally from Berryville, VA, Dr. Clay-Crawley was an active member of Zion Baptist Church and completed her education in the Clarke County Public School system. She then pursued her passion for chemistry, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2002, becoming a certified chemist through the American Chemical Society.
In her quest to educate and support young people within the state prison system, Dr. Clay-Crawley worked as an educator for the Department of Correctional Education. To enhance her skills further, she completed graduate-level coursework in Learning Disabilities and Emotional/Behavioral Disturbances. Later, she pursued her theological education and earned a Master of Divinity from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. In May 2024, she earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Memphis Theological Seminary, specializing in Womanist Preaching. Her dissertation is entitled "Transforming Sermons: A Womanist Reflective Model for Sermon Transformation." In August 2015, Dr. Clay-Crawley took on the role of pastor at New Life Community Church. Driven by her love for the Lord and her commitment to addressing pertinent issues, she empowers both the church's members and the wider community. New Life Community Church values fostering relationships, delivering Bible-based Womanist preaching and teaching, and empowering the community. Their mission centers on inspiring profound love for God and His creation, leading to empowerment and liberation for all in Christ – a mission they are actively fulfilling as a growing, welcoming, and affirming church. Dr. Clay-Crawley achieved another significant milestone in 2023, becoming the first Female Moderator of the Pamunkey Baptist Association. She is also an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and engages with various organizations to promote social justice and the love of God throughout the community. As a woman of God, Rev. Dr. Littycia A. Clay-Crawley is deeply committed to building and uplifting God's Kingdom through prayer and teaching, fulfilling her role as a devoted voice and shepherd of the Lord. |
